Database Analyst – SQL Server, SSIS

Database Analyst needed for leading UK company who have a superb market reputation.

The role sits within the Data Centre Team ensuring the security, resilience and performance of the business’ relational databases, together with responsibility for automating processes and reports where required.

Essential skills:

SQL Server Maintenance Plans

Back up Recovery (including performance tuning, patching, archiving and managing batch jobs)

SQL Server Integration Services

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge/experience of Business Objects XIR3, including Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence and Universe Design is desirable but not essential.

Role:

Your role will entail:

Support the operation of SQL Server Maintenance Plans and Backup Recovery Plans.

Perform maintenance of databases, including performance tuning, optimisation, patching and archiving.

Manage and deliver automated processes to remove manual tasks for both the IT teams and the business users.

Provide ongoing support to deliver the reporting requirements of the business.

Work with the business to understand customer requirements and convert these to technical specifications for sign off by the business.

Solve day to day support issues across the business using the internal helpdesk software to manage a personal call stack for your work.

Ensure valuable documentation and other important data is safely secured.

Ensure confidentiality of all trading and other sensitive information both within and outside of work.

Attend relevant training courses for own personal development.
